The VEITHsymposium, which is sponsored and accredited by the Cleveland Clinic, is organizing an International Guest Faculty Program (IGFP) to attract practicing international vascular specialists for participation in the November 2018 symposium. These specialists will apply for symposium faculty status under a new faculty designation, International Guest Faculty (IGF).
The objective of this program is to have international vascular specialists participate as Faculty to educate U.S. physicians and others in European advances. They will do this in one of three ways: moderators of sessions, individual presentations of original scientific or clinical case information, and podium discussants of cases presented in a Case Presentation session.
The selection process requires an abstract submission of 250 words maximum. Accepted abstracts will be published, with the consent of the presenter, in a Supplement to the Journal of Vascular Surgery.
Types of Participation
The Organizing Committee of the VEITHsymposium is seeking educational grant funding through the Cleveland Clinic to support this program. Funding will support registration, three days lodging at the symposium venue or symposium designated hotel, and up to $800 US towards a transatlantic flight. Travel arranged with the VEITHsymposium designated travel agency is preferred, but not mandatory. The Cleveland Clinic Center for Continuing Medical Education strictly adheres to the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) Standards for Commercial Support. VEITHsymposium is compliant with the MedTech Europe Code of Ethical Business Practice. Companies interested in supporting the International Guest Faculty Program with an educational grant may contact the Organizing Committee at +845-368-0069 or by email to email@example.com. All educational grant support will be acknowledged within the guidelines of the ACCME.
Vascular surgeons, interventional radiologists, cardiologists and vascular medicine specialists from Europe and Asia are encouraged to submit their work to the VEITHsymposium International Guest Faculty Program. Accepted IGF applicants will be eligible for funding as described above. In addition, the best three presentations will be recognized with a Plaque from the VEITHsymposium. All IGF will be listed on the VEITHsymposium Website as International Guest Faculty of VEITHsymposium and will receive a Certificate attesting to their presentations. The International Guest Faculty Program will be CME accredited.
